Serving approximately 1.4 million residential, commercial and industrial customers, Columbia Gas is the largest natural gas utility in the state of Ohio.
Columbia Gas of Ohio is an industry leader in the development of innovative programs; has a proven track record of service, reliability, and safety; and actively supports non-profit organizations in the communities it serves.
When Columbia Gas of Ohio leased space in two new buildings located in the Arena District of Columbus, Ohio, they realized they also needed cutting edge technology. This new space would include outfitting 29 conference rooms, an auditorium, multiple training rooms, 2 multipurpose rooms, a mother’s room, fitness center, 20 breakaway rooms, 3 executive offices, 2 executive conference rooms, and a gas control room.
SoundCom was proud to be a part of this extensive, high tech project. Highlighted below are few of the 60+ rooms SoundCom designed and installed in the new Columbia Gas of Ohio facilities.
Auditorium The auditorium was outfitted with 4 Panasonic 6,000 lumen projectors. These high quality projectors can display graphics across all screens to form a single, large continuous display, or the projectors can be used as individual screens. For quick and easy configuration, the display system utilizes a Crestron control system to simplify what might be an otherwise daunting task.
Executive Conference Rooms The executive conference rooms feature 80” interactive touch screen displays, high quality sound systems for speech intelligibility, Crestron and iPad touch panel controls.
Multipurpose Rooms Two multipurpose rooms were configured with 70” TVs, high quality sound systems, 16x16 Crestron Digital Media Matrix switches, Shure wireless and gooseneck microphones, a Biamp Tesira Forte DSP fixed I/O server, and a Crestron control app running on an iPad for overall system control.
Fitness Center and Fitness Center Classrooms The fitness center is equipped with five 60” flat panel displays and digital FM transmitters. These transmitters allow those who are exercising to listen to their TV of choice through the use of personal headsets. All fitness center classrooms feature 60” TVs, sound, and control systems.
Gas Control Room This complex installation included four 70” Sharp LED Smart TVs fed by a 32x32 Crestron DigitalMedia matrix switcher. The switcher was configured with 24 inputs designed to be routed to any of the displays giving users a wide range of source options.
